Important Note for our US customers!
Many of you will already have come to know that the US administration has abolished the pre standing ‘De Minimus’ agreement. This agreement enabled small businesses and small traders in the UK (and around the world) to send goods, up to the value of $800, to the US without incurring any tariffs .
As from the 29th of August 2025 this trade model is changing and our exported goods (from here in the UK to the US) will be subject to a new US imposed 10% tariff.
Usually tariff charges are paid by the customer on receipt of goods. However, there has been confusion regarding this, as the US administration has reported that if they receive a parcel and the duty has not been paid on it, there will be a flat $80+ fee to be paid by the customer – or the parcel will be returned. Obviously this would make trading with the US unworkable for us, our customers and many other businesses / sole traders too. However, Royal Mail have announced that they will now be implementing a pre paid tariff system for US sales and we will be using this new structure.
What do the changes mean for our customers?
- US customers will be charged the 10% tariff at source. This means they will be added to your bill. Please place your order as you always do and preauthorize the quoted PayPal amount, After your order is processed you will get the amended PayPal amount for reauthorization
- In compliance with the new US guidelines the 10% tariff is levied on the combined cost of both the goods AND the postage.
- As from the 29th August 2025 Royal Mail will launch its new US postage structure
This new postage system will ensure that all our parcels will have had their duty pre-paid, this way enabling a smooth journey and safe delivery to our US customers. - We are very sorry that this will make our miniatures slightly more expensive for our US customers. We will closely monitor the situation for change!
